Will the pigeon ever get his chance to drive the bus? Let's all talk with our shoulder partner about a time that you didn't get to do anything no matter how many times you asked. Write a short story about what happened after you didn't get to do something that you really wanted to. Write about what you ended up doing instead. We will all share our stories in the end.

Continue reading this story to see how it all winds up if you ever decide to give a mouse a cookie. As a class, lets think of different sentences that can follow the line,"If you give a mouse a cookie," lets create our own story together.

David is at school, lets see what his teachers have to say about his behavior in the classroom. We will add all of our drawings into one book and create a story about what behaviors we all should be doing in school.

This sweet book is about a little girl who is learning how to read. She is really nervous but overcomes her fear slowly with a little help from her four legged furry friend. This book is inspiring for all eager readers. Showing that it takes courage and practice to learn to read, especially in front of the whole class. Who is someone that you can read aloud to? Draw a picture of yourself reading aloud to your friend. We will all share our pictures to the whole class.

Everyday we all have new ideas. This story lets us know that having ideas is a good thing. We can all share our ideas to the rest of the world. Having ideas encourage us all to think big and to grow out interests in the world. For an activity for the classroom, writing a short story about an idea that you have. We will put everyones ideas into one book and we will title it as "Our Class Ideas." Having the students write their own ideas down and putting the into a book for us all to read throughout the year.

Now go and draw yourself wearing the amount of caps you were able to keep on your head during large group!

This story is about a sweet little girl who is named after a beautiful flower. She grew to love her name. What could go wrong? Now that this little girl is in school, she has hated her name more and more. What will happen now that she is getting laughed at for her name and what will she think about her name in the end?  Lets all pick a new name out of this jar that I have written up. Each name is a flower and I want you all to research more about the flower that you drew. After we all have our information, create a name plate for your new name with different drawings and colors that make your flower extra special.

What do you see on the cover of this story? Two people discuss what type of animal this story is about. Going back and forth between duck and rabbit, still trying to figure it out. Looking at what they are eating and evening listening to the noises it is making. As a class, it would be a great idea to go on an adventure after reading this story. Going outside to see what types of clouds we all see, and drawing the different shapes and animals each student sees. Then, we can all share our drawings and what we saw outside with the class.

This is a silly book that brings crayons to life. The crayons are writing letters to their owner Duncan why they have decided to quit. As Duncan is reading all the letters, he gets a really good idea on what to do next. One great activity to have the students complete after reading this story would be to have the students draw a picture with all the colors they have in their color box, just like Duncan did.

This book has a great meaning for friendship, forgiveness, and kindness. The little girls grandfather always reminded her to "treat people the way you want to be treated." This saying stuck with her while she was getting bullied in school. Having that reminder helped her to befriend the bully and help him when he needed it. This book will help create lots of group discussion throughout the classroom. Having this book to read before asking the students to write about a time where they can help someone who may need it rather than ignoring them. Having the students share their response to the class to encourage kindness all around.
